I'm participating in the 50-50 Show II, July 30-August 29, 2010, at Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, CA. Each artist creates 50 artworks in 50 days. Granted, each piece is only 6 inches square, but still . . . fifty!
My medium is acrylic on MDF panels, and my theme is Abstract (shapes and colors). I've always loved geometric shapes and the play of color fields, so I decided to focus in this area and see where I ended up. Halfway through, I've experienced elation, boredom, worry, frustration, and great pleasure and a sense of completion when a piece comes out as I wanted it to. Plus pure joy at painting so much of the time.
The large image shows the first 50-50 piece I did, on May 17. (This piece is now sold, but will, of course, be in the exhibition.) Blogging is new to me, so I will post more pieces as I learn how to do this.
